What is MCC?
MANILA, Philippines - MILLENNIUM CHALLENGE CORPORATION (MCC) is an innovative and independent US foreign aid agency that is helping lead the fight against global poverty. Created by the US Congress in 2004 with strong bipartisan support, MCC is changing the conversation on how best to deliver smart US foreign aid by focusing on good policies, country ownership, and results.
MCC is led by a Chief Executive Officer and is governed by a nine-member board of directors. The MCC Board is comprised of the Secretary of State as Chair, the MCC CEO, the Secretary of the Treasury, the US Trade Representative, and the USAID Administrator, along with four private sector representatives.
In the Philippines, MCC’s Resident Country Mission is a small unit of five individuals monitoring Compact implementation in the country. It is led by Resident Country Director Matthew Bohn and his Deputy Resident Country Director John Polk. The team is also composed of a Development Assistance Specialist, a Program Management Assistant, and a driver.
