Child prodigy frontlines Iglesias concert

Eleven-year-old Kris John Paul Gonzales joined Asia’s Queen of Songs Pilita Corrales as one of the front acts during the recent dinner-concert of world-famous Latin singer Julio Iglesias at the Manila Hotel Tent City.

Performing the opening act is nothing new to the young musical genius as Kris always gets invited to the shows of famous singers, both here and abroad, and in numerous fund-raisers. At Iglesias’ concert, Kris even rendered a Spanish composition. Beaming with pride were Kris’ parents Muebles Italiano president and CEO Noel Gonzales and lovely wife Eileen.

Kris regularly trains with a professional vocal teacher every week. Soon, the time will come when Kris will invite us to his own concert.

Congratulations, Kris, and to the proud parents Noel and Eileen!

An eye-catching affair

Recent advancements in technology continue to benefit the human race and a very good example of this is the progress in creating ophthalmic lenses. As the world leader in the design, manufacture and customization of ophthalmic lenses, Essilor continues to develop products that enable individuals to see more using lenses tailored to their needs.

The global company, through its local branch Essilor Philippines, recently launched its newest innovation — the Varilux S Series. Optometrists from the country’s leading optical clinics were graciously welcomed to the event by Essilor regional marketing manager Yvonne Siow and Essilor Philippines general manager Dr. Emelita Roleda.

The elegant Rigodon Ballroom of The Peninsula Manila was the chosen venue where guests witnessed and experienced the latest breakthrough offered by the world’s leader in visual health. Serving as the event highlight was the detailed discussion about the Varilux S Series by Essilor marketing director for Asia Pacific, Middle East, Russia and Africa Dr.  Alex Vi and Essilor Philippines sales and marketing manager Dr. Kyle Galias.

Congratulations to the visionary team for this impressive achievement!
