A journey into the Kingdom of Siam

Considered one of the most beloved classic musicals of all time, Rodgers and Hammerstein’s The King and I is the latest theatrical presentation of Resorts World Manila at its 1,500-seater, ultra-modern Newport Performing Arts Theater. 

Topbilled by international theater luminaries Leo Tavarro Valdez and Monique Wilson, the all-Filipino production boasts of grand set designs depicting 19th-century Thailand, the latest light, sound and video technology, with fashion designer Rajo Laurel doing the wardrobe of the lead characters, Anna and King Mongkut of Siam.

At the premiere night, Resorts World Manila president Kingson Sian and VIPs Genting Hong Kong president and Travellers International chairman David Chua, Jaime Zobel de Ayala with wife Beatriz and Ombudsman Conchita Carpio-Morales were delighted to hear timeless hits from the Broadway musical like Shall We Dance?, Whistle a Happy Tune, Hello, Young Lovers, Getting to Know You and We Kiss in a Shadow.
