Celebrating Mely

Known for her hospitality and grand soirees, Mely Hechanova once again demonstrated her prowess in entertaining guests as she celebrated her birthday with her dearest family and friends. The intimate gathering took place at her fabulous mansion, where guests were treated to a sumptuous lunch buffet and mouthwatering desserts. Together with husband Paing, and their three daughters, Renna, Raissa and Riana, Mely happily welcomed her guests including former Ambassador to the Holy See Nida Vera, Monaco Consul General Fortune Ledesma, Togo Consul Evie Costa, notable author Beth Day Romulo and topnotch lawyer Katrina Legarda. It was indeed a heartwarming celebration for such a joyous occasion. Wishing you good health, much love and many more glorious years ahead, Mely!

50 years of marital bliss

The white sand, clear blue waters and tranquil ambiance of Laiya in San Juan, Batangas was the backdrop for the 50th wedding anniversary celebration of Taramindu Beach Garden Inn owners, Jun and Carmen Mendoza. The Mendozas’ thoughtful children invited 200 guests from the city to join their loving parents in the momentous occasion.

Partying with Mariquita!

The Yeung’s beautiful villa on top of Nivel hills was the setting for the Great Gatsby-themed birthday celebration of one of Cebu’s movers and shakers — Mariquita Salimbangon Yeung. Guests came in roaring ‘20s-inspired outfits and enjoyed the fabulous party replete with an array of delectable dishes. During the program, the celebrator beamed with joy upon hearing the messages of love and admiration from devoted husband Carlos, loving children Martin and Jewelle, and supportive brothers Rep. Benhur, Cesar, Edwin and Freddie Salimbangon. Violinist Jay Cayuca and singer Martin Nievera provided excellent entertainment all throughout the night. Gracing the affair were former President Joseph Estrada, former Sen. Ernesto Maceda, Cebu Gov. Gwen Garcia and Cebu City Mayor Mike Rama, Consul General of France to the Visayas Michel Lhuillier and Marco Polo Plaza Cebu GM Hans Hauri, among others.
