Adding new meaning to the word 'chill'

OH YES, IT'S JOHNNY! - Johnny Litton -

It’s official. Manila’s A-listers just can’t get enough of A. Venue in Antel Lifestyle City, the country’s first integrated entertainment mall and events venue under one complex right along Makati Avenue. You just got to hand it to Antel Group of Companies president Elena Jao and A. Venue GM engineer Shirley Abugan-Ferrer, to make Manila’s movers and shakers come to discover the perfect place to chill. This was further bolstered when they recently had a swell time experiencing some of its very relaxing dining niches: the cheerful German guesthouse-inspired character of Gasthof Cafe where Boracay’s famous dish of baby back ribs is served, the celebrity party cozy hangout allure of Attica resto bar, and the laid-back chill out ambiance of The Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf. See you soon at the newest destination of choice for comfort food, fine dining and bar relaxation — A. Venue!

(For reservations, you may call Gasthof at 757-1618, Attica at 729-5121 and Coffee Bean at 729-7095. A. Venue is located at 7829 Makati Avenue, Makati City.)

An elaborately colorful feast

In wanting to preserve a century-old tradition, the Escudero family, led by Conrado “Ado” Escudero, celebrated the Feast of the Ascension with a whole day affair at the remarkable Villa Escudero Plantation and Resort. Guests were invited to come in Filipino attire as they were welcomed to the estate’s historic chapel for a special Mass and an elaborately decorated pagoda. The fiesta’s entertainment included Tribung Pinoy who sang Filipino kundiman songs as well as a surprise performance by actor Ricky Davao. A magnificent fireworks display ended the day-long celebration. The Escuderos have truly put importance in preserving years of family tradition and honor. Cheers!

Building an eco-friendly future

Following through its vision of “Building the Future,” Wilcon Builders’ Depot, the country’s leader in home building needs, recently held the initial judging of the second National Interior Design Competition dubbed, Eco Friendly Designs for a Greener Tomorrow. Philanthropist and visionary Wilcon president and CEO William Belo, assisted by EVP and COO Rose Bosch Ong supervised the judging. Christine de Felix and David O’yek took the top honors for the student and professional categories, respectively.

Congratulations!
