Two days of fun at Plantation Bay

OH YES, IT'S JOHNNY! - Johnny Litton -

Plantation Bay Resort and Spa, the country’s premiere leisure destination in Cebu, continues to please its guests by holding well thought-out parties, private anniversaries and celebrations or even spur-of-the-moment holidays. Aside from the friendly smiles and first-rate services, the Caribbean village-inspired resort’s numerous attractions include more than 11 hectares of lush tropical foliage, water and white sands. It has 247 of the prettiest rooms of any resort in the world, including 24 well-appointed suites, three signature restaurants and the biggest saltwater swimming lagoon replete with waterfalls and slides.  A world-class Mogambo Springs Spa features the most luxurious massage therapies and wellness treatments.

Carmen Fernandez Beaves, one of the directors of Plantation Bay Resort and Spa, recently celebrated her 50th birthday with a two-day bash at this fabulous resort — one, a formal sit-down dinner and the other, a more laid-back beach party. The former started off with cocktails at the Piazza Palermo poolside accompanied by Latino music from Plantation Bay’s very own serenaders. Carmen Beaves and her elated guests which included Plantation Bay board of directors Joben Jalandoni, Nanette de Leon, Arthur Palou, Elizabeth Reyes and George Francisco, were treated to a night of good music, canapés and drinks while the children had a separate party at the luxurious Quantum Villa. Dinner followed at the elegant Palermo Restaurant with a special Italian menu prepared by executive sous chef Dario Roxas. A Brazilian-themed party capped off the two-day birthday bash which was held at the Peninsula Beach. Guests were treated to a sumptuous buffet and overflowing drinks while they partied to the music of the Renaissance Band, Cebu’s premier retro band. Guests also included friends based in Cebu, Derek Arculli and his wife Mary Anne Aboitiz Arculli. Also present were Plantation Bay GM Efren Belarmino, consultants Litoy Noel and Joy Onozawa.

A very happy birthday to the lovely Carmen!

DLSU alumni affair at Chaikofi

The Businessman of the Year and rising tycoon Ted Haresco, who was also featured as one of the “Men Who Matter” by People Asia, recently hosted a lavish luncheon at Chaikofi in the Mall of Asia for the 1968 De La Salle Alumni. The super chic Dutch-themed restaurant with excellent services pooled together by Chaikofi Philippine proprietress Bettina Fernandez  was filled with name-droppables like special guest, topnotch Sen. Loren Legarda, along with the afternoon’s entertainers comedienne Giselle Sanchez and Diamond Hotel’s song siren Gigi Bamba. Among the guests were also some representatives from the De La Salle University Green Archers basketball team and the cheer squad.  The afternoon was a perfect way to celebrate the success of an excellent businessman and the ongoing traditions of the De La Salle family.

Cheers!
