A Thai food extravaganza

OH YES, IT'S JOHNNY! - Johnny Litton -
The discriminating food lover’s Thai restaurant of choice, Benjarong Royal Thai Restaurant in Dusit Hotel Nikko, was the locale for a project of the Royal Thai Embassy’s Thai Food Promotion, a campaign that promotes Thai food around the world. The embassy brought in chef Charoenchai Phiriyathorn, a chef instructor from the renowned Dusit Thani College, to conduct an informative cooking demonstration. Featured were dishes such as Thai Style Stir-Fried Noodles (Pad Thai) and Beef in Sweet Peanut Curry.

Hardworking Dusit GM Ikuo Itoi and dapper Dusit resident manager Frank Grassman were on hand to welcome the distinguished guests to the classy hotel: Thai Ambassador Asha Dvitiyananda, Brunei Ambassador Emaleen Abdul Rahman Teo and Mexican Ambassador Erendira Araceli Paz Campos. Everybody enjoyed the sumptuous, unforgettable culinary offerings of Thai cuisine. The campaign will culminate in the Thai Food Festival 2006 at the Festival Super Mall in Alabang, Muntinlupa City from June 30 to July 2.

Meanwhile, The Café unveils the secret of Dusit Thani Bangkok’s famed Mayflower Restaurant with a dim sum feast fit for emperors until June 25. Savor a delectable balance of rich textures and delicate flavors of Mayflower’s best selling dim sum specials like Shrimp wonton with salad sauce, Crab legs with minced shrimp and Seaweed with shrimp in brown sauce.

Congratulations to the Royal Thai Embassy and Dusit Hotel Nikko!
Bangkok bridal bliss
A typical summer afternoon in Bangkok turned into a magical day for sweethearts Francisco Roberto "Coco" Mauricio and Patricia "Pat" Kierulf because it was their official day of union. Wedding bliss was in the air at the Assumption Cathedral beside the Chao Praya River. Parents Antonio and Fe Mauricio and Joey and Christina Kierulf were as thrilled as the more than 150 guests who came from all parts of the world, including Pat’s dapper uncle and lovely aunt, Henry and Jojo Zabarte.

After the elegant and solemn ceremony, all the guests walked to the nearby pier to ride a boat that would take them on a tour of the river and finally to the reception venue, the Millennium Hilton Hotel, Thailand’s newest five-star hotel. They were greeted by the handsome couple in an archway filled with beautiful flowers. The celebration was further highlighted by the serving of mouth-watering Thai food, hilarious performances by the groom’s friends and a series of moving speeches.

It was truly a wedding to remember!
