WATCH: Video of plane crash in Calamba resort area

MANILA, Philippines— An eleven-seater plane crashed in a resort and residential area in Calamba, Laguna on Sunday afternoon.

The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council said the aircraft, identified as Medical Evacuation Plane King Air 350 (Tail No. RPC 2286), crashed in Agojo private resort inside the Miramonte Subdivision in Barangay Pansol, Calamba City at around 3:30 p.m.

The plane departed from Dipolog City at 1:40 p.m. and was on its way back to Manila when it crashed.

Residents said the plane disintegrated before it landed.

Videos of the actual crash showed that the aircraft crash caused a fire when it hit the ground.

The Bureau of Fire Protection and other local responders put out the fire at around 5:17 p.m.

The plane crash left nine people dead and two others injured.

The Philippine National Police completed its search and retrieval operation at 8:16 p.m. on Sunday.
