Video of the Day: Robin Williams' First 'Tonight Show' Appearance

MANILA, Philippines - On Oct. 14, 1981, a young Williams appeared on "The Tonight Show."

Before he was Mrs. Doubtfire or Professor John Keating, Williams was a man who still got his nerves cracking and heart thumping when it came to doing interviews. Sitting on Johnny Carson's couch, the nervous Williams, who was then at the peak of his "Mork & Mindy" career went on to deliver rapid-fire spitting jokes that nobody expected. It was zany and hilarious. These are the qualities that make the Oscar-winning actor loveable and utterly missed.

While we mourn for the death of a comedic legend, let's take a few minutes and watch young Williams who never lost his spark of madness, ingenuity, and profundity. Check out the clip below.
