Universal call to holiness

Greetings!
We are, indeed, very happy about the canonizations by Pope Leo XIV of Saint Pier Giorgio Frassati and Saint Carlo Acutis, on September 7, 2025!
There is hope for ordinary people, like you and me, to become saints! Holiness is not only reserved for priests and nuns. A congressman, a politician, a housewife, an accountant, a teacher, a doctor, a contractor, a professional, a student, the unemployed, sick, healthy, young and old, anyone who does his honest daily ordinary work well, for love of God, can become a saint.
Our daily ordinary duties, whatever our vocation in life, performed well with love, can help us live holiness, as taught by Saint Josemaría Escriva, the saint of ordinary life (www.escrivaworks.org).
A priest was saying that, if we can only organize a retreat for congressmen and senators, bringing them to the Sacraments of Confession and Communion, can greatly help to bring back our country toward true progress and prosperity, materially and spiritually.
Man is free and he is responsible for all his actions. Leaders and citizens are immensely helped if we find time, which is short, to acquire the moral fiber, with worship and reflection on the eternal truths, on Sundays, the days of rest - where we come from and our true goal in life.
We earnestly hope too for our leaders to sincerely heed this urgent and long overlooked obligation to provide enough time for the spiritual wellbeing of the citizenry, on Sundays and days of rest, that may yet be the answer to the current challenges facing our country now.
Thank you.
Very truly yours,
Mrs Ching D Aunario
