Kudos to SSS

In 2013 my employer started to pay for my Social Security membership on a quarterly basis. After going through filling up the forms I was told I have to go to the Dasmariñas Binondo office for the payments.

At the Binondo office an employee told me to go to a bank there because their payment system is offline. I did pay at the bank and was given a receipt. That way the first payment.

The next quarter I again went to the Binondo office to pay, and again was told to go to the same bank and this time she said “have your receipts recorded at the Tondo branch” which I dutifully followed.

During my third quarter payment I inquired when can I have my SSS ID. The Binondo office said that my payments were not yet recorded in their online members contribution listing. This added to my disappointment and I stopped going there to pay my contributions though my employer was insisting that I continue so that I may avail of benefits in the future.

During tthe recent condonation program of SSS my employer said I should go back there so we may continue payment without penalty.

I was pleasantly surprised that within half an hour with Mary Cris Servilla under Adrian Pacis assisting and giving me complete papers that all I have to do was pay in Binondo. Within minutes it was over in Binondo and after my next payment I was told I can just pay at any accredited payment center. That was the best assistance I ever had. Rexy Ramilla, Tondo, Manila
