Reserved seats

The Philippine Star

As provided for under Republic Act 957 and Batas Pambansa Bilang 344, buses are required to reserve seats for the senior citizens, PWDs and pregnant women. The reason is obvious. But despite the law we find seats reserved for aforementioned persons occupied by normal passengers. Why is this happening?

We are requesting LTFRB for a stricter implementation of the law. Buses should not allow normal passengers to occupy the seats and reserve them for senior citizens, PWDs, and pregnant women. — Leonardo Canta, Committee on Senior Citizens, Sorrento Townhouse Homeowners Association, Panapaan IV, Bacoor City
