Help keep election clean

Politicians who strangely hold fast to power are most assuredly corrupt and seldom is their real intention for the welfare of the people. Theirs is to perpetuate political influence for personal interests and self-preservation or aggrandizement.

What an eternal sequence of manipulation, injustice, crime and corruption. It may have begun simply as hand writings on the wall, but it’s all now coming to pass with audacity, shamelessness and “in broad daylight,” shocking the whole nation.

From one scandal and infamy after another up to the unthinkable Maguindanao massacre and the consequent anomalies and carnage of justice, the Filipino people can rest their pleadings in the hands of the Almighty God as the sure and absolute vindication of their pain and sufferings.

But as for our part, unless we break the cycle and shackle in the coming elections by the shade we put in the blank holes of our choice, heeding the call to keep them wise and clean and to make the elections happen, we are bound again to have a “leader” or “leaders” who have baggage to protect and misdeeds to cover up, big and serious enough to largely affect every move they make with total disregard for what is right and what is just.  - Reni M.
