Distribution: Philippines: Northern Luzon (Ifugao, Mt. Province, Benguet). Also found in the Himalayan region to southern China and Taiwan.
Habitat: It thrives on slopes, ravines and along highways from Bontoc to Banaue. Flowers from February to October.
Economic uses: Although it is not known to be cultivated in gardens in the Philippines, the plant has attractive flowers and has ornamental potential.
Conservation status: Not threatened. It is abundant in the wild although it has restricted distribution in the highlands of northern Luzon. Photo: D.A.Madulid
