The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - Far Eastern University, through its wholly owned subsidiary East Asia Computer Center Inc., is currently constructing a second technology school, FEU Tech, on P. Paredes St. Sampaloc, in Manila.

FEU Tech will be housed in a new 17-story building in the heart of Manila’s famous University Belt, a short walk from the FEU Campus. This brand new building will feature all the elements of an ultra-modern institute of higher education, including scenic elevators, electronic library facilities, a covered gym and basketball court, a 25-meter indoor swimming pool, eco friendly Green Building Technology, e-Building high tech security, standby power supply and generators, energy efficient air conditioning, fully equipped classrooms and laboratories, secured garage parking, building-wide WiFi accessibility, and an observation deck with a view of the entire city.

Construction of the FEU Tech Building is scheduled to be completed in May, 2014, but early enrollment is currently open. Program offerings will include Civil Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering.

Students enrolled in either FEU - East Asia College (FEU’s first tech school) or FEU Tech will have access to all that FEU has to offer, including its historic campus and the new building. This collaboration between the two schools has been dubbed “Tech to the Power of Two,” or “Tech²,” by school officials.

“We call it ‘Tech to the Power of Two’ because students will get to enjoy both the classic prestige that comes with the FEU campus, and the ultra-modern marvel of the new FEU Tech Building,” said Benson Tan, executive director of both FEU –East Asia College and FEU Tech.

The original FEU East Asia Tech Building is along Morayta (Nicanor Reyes St.), in Manila, and located within Far Eastern University’s prestigious campus, which has been a vital part of Manila’s legacy for over 85 years. The Main Campus features a natural ecological environment of grassy parks and shady trees. It is also home to award winning art and architecture, including five Art Deco buildings designed by architect Antonio Pablo, a National Artist of the Philippines. FEU’s notable alumni include world-renown businessman, retail king, and shopping mall mogul, Henry Sy, the founder and chairman of SM; president and CEO of San Miguel Corp. Ramon Ang; chairman of Rizal Commercial Banking Corp. Alfonso Yuchengco; and former Chief Justice of the Supreme Court Artemio Panganiban.
