DLSU-D kicks off Centennial Countdown

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - June 16 marked the date when De La Salle University-Dasmariñas (DLSU-D) simultaneously held its kick off ceremonies for the Centennial Countdown with other De La Salle schools across the country.

A mass of the Holy Spirit with Fr. Jun Perez was held at the Ugnayang La Salle. During the mass the Centennial projects and commitments of DLSU-D for the upcoming celebration of the 100 years of Lasallian presence in the Philippines were presented. Some of the major commitments are the Great Human Lasallian Star to be formed by Lasallians all over the country, Centennial songs, and the Comic Book on the Life of St. John Baptist de La Salle.

Aside from the special performances of the Performing Arts Group, highlights of the program were the message from the Brother Visitor, blessing of the Holy Ground, and the launching of the electronic countdown timer.

In his message, Br. Visitor Edmundo Fernandez FSC not only invited Lasallians to take part in the upcoming Centennial activities but also challenged them to look back on what Lasallians have accomplished and contributed for the past 100 years, and reflect whether it is good enough and think of what more Lasallians could do hereupon.

Photo shows Br. Augustine Boquer FSC, De La Salle University-Dasmariñas and De La Salle Health Sciences Institute president, pressing the remote control of the electronic countdown timer.

The timers would be present in various websites and La Salle schools in the country.
