Liar, liar, pants on fire!

SHOOTING STRAIGHT - Bobit S. Avila - The Philippine Star

The complete and signed affidavit of Janet Lim Napoles (JLN) contains the names of at least 120 Senators and Congressmen whom if Napoles is to be believed, these lawmakers were instrumental in her crooked money making venture that made her a super millionaire or billionaire using fake NGOs so they could get money from the General Appropriation Fund, which comes from the National Treasury or the so-called People’s money to enrich themselves beyond their wildest dreams, while the majority of the Filipino people continue to live in sordid poverty with no hope of uplifting their lives.

Days after the publication of the “Napolist,” we hear a loud chorus from the Senators and Congressmen whose names appear on that list… telling the media that they have no knowledge of this charge… or they have never met Napoles. Not a single one of them publicly admitted to this charge by Napoles. So if these Senators and Congressmen are to be believed, Napoles is just one big fat liar… or are these so-called honorable men and women lying through their teeth? So how can we tell who is lying? I’m sure that won’t be exposed in another Senate Blue Ribbon Committee hearing. So let’s get on with the show and on to the Sandiganbayan.

But come now… do you honestly believe that Janet Napoles could pull a fast one from those smart asses in the Legislature and get the people’s money without any help or aid from those honorable men and women in Congress or the Philippine Senate, anyone of whom could be the brains of this scam? Jess C. Scott once said, “Hypocrites get offended by the truth!”

If you ask me, this pork scam is our visible proof why those men and women of the political elite (they are mostly political families) run for their elective positions for salaries of a mere P35,000 per month and overspend (yet the Comelec only booted out Laguna Gov. ER Ejercito for overspending) in the elections to buy votes of the poor because there had to be a “pot of gold” at their beck and call waiting to be transferred into their private bank accounts or worse, sent off to offshore banks.

This has been going on since the EDSA Revolution of 1986 and it took 28 long years until Janet Lim Napoles was exposed by Ben-Hur Luy because everything has an end. I also attribute what has happened to our country to the June 8, 2013 consecration of the Philippines to the Immaculate Heart of Mary by the Catholic Bishop’s Conference of the Philippines (CBCP). It is God’s way of cleansing our nation from the evil of greed that has fallen upon our political leaders, who had a 28-year stranglehold of our nation.

Indeed it is the end of the line for Napoles…and my worse fear is that she could easily be assassinated for implicating those powerful figures in Congress. Life as we’ve already written before is cheap in the Philippines. For a few pesos, one can get a hired gun to exterminate any person. Doesn’t it make you think how much someone would pay to kill Napoles with extreme prejudice? So what’s the end game for Juan Ponce Enrile, Jinggoy Estrada, Bong Revilla and the rest of the Senators and Congressmen in the honor list of Janet Napoles?

Already, we hear people in coffeehouses openly talking about how this scam would end up. People nowadays talk freely about an up and coming coup. Of course there are prime suspects, but where would that lead them? For sure, they are covering their tracks trying to save their own necks and the heck with what happens to this nation.

Meanwhile on the Executive front, it seems that Malacañang is starting to crack up because of the non-stop pressure by the mosquito media, which has now been joined in chorus by most mainstream media outfits openly chastising the Aquino regime for its failures and incompetence.

Last May 13, the STAR reported the resignations of two attached agencies of the Department of Agriculture (DA) and National Food Authority (NFA) Administrator Orlan Calayag resigned on May 6 while Philippine Coconut Authority (PCA) Administrator Euclides Forbes also resigned a week earlier as a result of the appointment of former Senator Francis Pangilinan as Presidential Adviser on food security and agricultural modernization.

Then finally, Metro Rail Transit 3 General Manager Al Vitangcol was fired and under investigation for giving a P517 million maintenance contract to his uncle-in-law. But what got my gall was when President Benigno “P-Noy” Aquino III said that he didn’t know Al Vitangcol. Mr. President, you did the right thing in firing Vitangcol, but do you have to say that you didn’t know him? This only proves what an incompetent President you have become because you don’t know the people that you hired under the Executive Branch.
