Wake up call

DUMB? In the beginning, she thought her pet dog was dumb. It lived inside the house, slept like a log, and ate like a pig. But as it grew older, it began to please her. Last week, while asleep at past midnight, her husband came home from work and couldn't enter the house having left the key to the house as well as his cellphone at the office.

SMART. As he was about to give up hope after knocking on the door and calling his wife's name out loud many times, the dog climbed up to her bed and woke her up. The husband, after learning about the story, promised to buy the dog a bone the next day.
