Noynoying is also prevalent in the DepEd!

SHOOTING STRAIGHT - Bobit S. Avila -

When did the Aquino Regime declare the country to be a communist state? What’s happening at the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) is following a communist style where travel agents or companies will no longer be allowed to line up for their clients to get their passports. I learned this from DFA Director Elias Balawag during the 888 Forum where there was such a directive sent to his office from Manila that this would be implemented in the provinces, while in Metro Manila it is still the status quo.

If there is anything that travel agencies do, it is to provide convenience for their clients. They have a person handling passports and thus in effect they have reduced the long lines at the DFA. Just imagine a family of five all lining up when the travel agent could do this for them? This was the practice then and there was nothing wrong with it.

But with this new directive, everyone would now have to line up at the DFA office to get their passports. But we believe that there are others here who are more equal than most of us. So I question this directive simply because of that old American saying, “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it!” Mr. Bobby Joseph, one of the pillars of the tourism industry, told the group that they are trying to solve this problem in Manila. All I can say to Sir Bobby is good luck! Ever since the Aquino Regime came into power, they only had problems and now they are creating a problem where there was none!

Talking about solving problems… classes have finally opened to the usual cries of parents and students that the same old problems plagued our educational system in more than two decades. Lack of classrooms, lack of teachers and the national government’s lack of brains in solving the ills of educational system. The Aquino Regime came into Malacañang chastising the former administration for not solving these problems that could easily be solved by addressing the issue squarely and putting the funds into it.

That was when Sen. Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino, III was courting your votes. But now that he is the President, he has once more proven to the Filipino people that he is only good in “Noynoying” when it comes to solving the problems at the Department of Education (DepEd). No only did the Aquino Regime failed to solve this problem, they went into a propaganda campaign to lie about their achievements.

This is why last May 26, The Freeman came up with an editorial entitled “Luisitro is Wrong!” The editorial quoted Department of Education (DepEd) Secretary Armin Luistro who was being interviewed by Karen Davila of ANC proclaiming that in his own personal monitoring and what the DepEd records show, “There are in fact more classrooms than the number of actual students.” This is true in the provinces, but totally untrue in the major urban centers of the country.

So when classes finally opened, we were all greeted by the same old.. same old… decades old problem which until now all the presidents, from Pres. Marcos to Pres. PNoy could not solve. More so that under PNoy, he is known now as “Noynoying” on everything he needs to do. Clearly the problem is we are putting the wrong political leaders in a system that no longer works. What more proof do we need?

The Judicial & Bar Council (JBC) has finally convened but handled by Associate Justice Regino Hermosisima and came up with what I would call a “Corona impeachment” hangover rule where they now require that all the names that would be presented to the JBC to replace CJ Corona should sign their respective bank waivers. This may be a good idea in order for the next Chief Justice not to be wrongly accused when he sits on the bench. However, this process is longer helps the demands for justice.

One of the most sacred rights of man in this Constitution is that, one is considered innocent until his guilt is proven. Here’s a scenario. If there are five names of people presented to the JBC and they ended up with only two names given to the President, speculation would suddenly turn viral that the names of those who did not make the grade were not considered worthy because they probably had too much money in their bank accounts that may possibly be ill-gotten? What happens to those persons who may have more money than they can explain? Will these be given to the BIR for another investigation of ill-gotten wealth?

We chastised the DPWH on the asphalting vs. concreting a few columns ago. But why are they fixing the 2nd Mactan Bridge when classes started? So that the traffic would be horrendous? They should have done this during the school recess. Another kapalpakan by the DPWH!
