Start the day with laughter

If the owners of the Gaisano Central find it difficult to demolish their burned building, can’t the City Hall demolition squad help?

My friend Engr. Rene Delgado Sr. says: “Ganahan man gyud manimolis (mang-demolish) kanang demolition squad sa CH, sila pademolisa sa nasunog nga building.” Hehe.

The new tourism slogan says: “It’s More Fun In The Philippines.” It stresses the Spirit of fun in PHL, says the DOT. Not that us Pinoys are a funny people.

Ms. Mabel Tequerone, Ph. D., of Terra Buena, thinks the slogan is too wordy. “Why not create a slogan like Thailand’s ‘Amazing Thailand’ or like Malaysia’s ‘Truly Asia’ or maybe like ‘Uniquely Singapore’ of Singapore?” Mabel proposed in a phone call.

She adds: “‘Wow Philippines,’ the old DOT slogan covers all that Thailand, Malaysia and Singapore claim to have and take pride in. And more. A slogan must be brief and catchy and easily spoken.”

The palace says heads will roll for the landslide tragedy in Compostela Valley. A landslide of heads coming up?

I just came across this one-liner in a family magazine: “Start your day with laughter.” It brings to mind what Charlie Chaplin, the topnotch comedian, once said: “The most wasted day in one’s life is the day in which one has not laughed.”

VP Jojo Binay’s satisfaction rating continues to rise, higher than PNoy’s rating. “PNoy should not be envious,” says a political observer. “He gave Jojo Binay jobs where pogi points are easy picking.”

* * *

What this observer means is that Sir Jojo is into official activities that make him popular with the people. Like building homes for the homeless, trying to save the necks of Pinoy death convicts in China, helping solve the problems of OFWs, etc.
