Public viewing

- The Ear -

For several straight nights a religious group held a public viewing of movies as part of their recreational activities.

The problem? They were using pirated DVDs and the movies were current titles still playing in theaters. They also had their viewing in public via a huge projector, just a stone’s thrown from the barangay hall.

It was not immediately known if the barangay sponsored it or was involved in any way in the event.

The main thoroughfare cutting through the barangay was also just a few feet away and people in passing jeepneys could freely see the show.
