MANILA, Philippines — Ninety-nine overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia have returned to the country, according to the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration.
The OWWA said a group of 15 OFWs arrived at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 3 yesterday on a Gulf Air flight after traveling by land from Riyadh to Dammam where they boarded their flight to the Philippines.
The 15 arrivals brought to 99 the number of OFWs repatriated from Saudi Arabia.
The repatriates include 34 OFWs who arrived on Monday and another 50 who returned yesterday morning.
The OWWA said 50 more OFWs were scheduled to arrive last night on a Qatar Airways flight, with their repatriation funded through the Aksyon Fund of the Migrant Workers Office.
The agency also reported that 249 OFWs had confirmed flight bookings from Oct. 21 to 26.
