MANILA, Philippines — Printing of 120,720 official ballots for a plebiscite for the conversion of Naga in Camarines Sur into a highly urbanized city has been completed, according to the Commission on Elections.
The Comelec said that printing for another set of ballots for a special election in Batanes would resume today.
Comelec spokesman John Rex Laudiangco yesterday said that ballot printing for both electoral exercises was initially expected to be complete within the day, but the schedule was adjusted to allow the completion of the Naga plebiscite ballots.
The ballots were printed at the National Printing Office in Diliman, Quezon City.
The Naga plebiscite will be conducted on Nov. 21, while the Batanes special election will be held on Nov. 28.
The special election in Batanes intends to fill a vacancy in the House of Representatives following the death of Rep. Ciriaco Gato Jr. on Sept. 21.
