COTABATO CITY, Philippines — Four villagers died instantly after a wayward van-type truck rammed the side of a multi-purpose covered court along a highway in Barangay Marilog in Davao City on Saturday morning, April 11.
Radio reports in Cotabato City and in nearby Bangsamoro provinces at noon Saturday stated that officials of the Police Regional Office 11 had confirmed that among the four fatalities is the driver of the ill-fated truck and a companion, who both immediately succumbed to injuries sustained in the accident.
The accident left two other individuals inside the covered court dead, according to initial reports by the Davao City Police Office and barangay officials in the far-flung Marilog.
The van-type truck reportedly flipped and rolled after hitting the covered court and landed upside down near the Marilog barangay hall also along the route.
