EDSA Kamuning to close for new busway construction

MANILA, Philippines — The Kamuning station of the EDSA Busway system will be off-limits starting this weekend as the construction of a new footbridge and bus station gets underway.
In an advisory on the Facebook page of the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA), the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) announced that city buses should “temporarily skip the Southbound platform of the Kamuning Busway Station during the scheduled full road closures Jan. 10, 12 and 15, 2026, from 1 a.m. to 4 a.m.”
Busway passengers may choose to ride or drop off at either Quezon Avenue or Nepa Q-Mart Stations in the meantime, the DPWH added.
Motorists affected by the closure of EDSA southbound – from Scout Borromeo Street to GMA Network Drive – are advised to use Scout Borromeo, Scout Ybardolaza Street, Sgt. Esguerra Avenue, Samar Avenue, GMA Network Drive and Timog Avenue as alternate routes.
The DPWH appealed for “patience and continued support as we work toward a more accessible, efficient and commuter-friendly EDSA.”
