Gunmen owed P9 million in slay of 2 Japanese
MANILA, Philippines — The two gunmen tagged in the Aug. 15 killing of two Japanese tourists in Malate, Manila were paid only P10,000 out of the P9-million contract offered by the mastermind, according to police.
Brothers Abel and Albert Nuqui Manabat, aged 62 and 50, respectively, were presented to media on Tuesday by Manila Mayor Isko Moreno.
The Manabat brothers were accused of killing Akinobu Nakayama, 41, and Hideaki Satori, 53, allegedly under the orders of their compatriot.
The victims frequently visited the Philippines to play casino games.
Authorities are pursuing a third suspect.
Murder and robbery charges were filed against the suspects.
