MANILA, Philippines — Mayor Isko Moreno fired two traffic enforcers caught extorting money from a truck driver, as he warned that city hall employees caught for misconduct would be removed instantly.

Moreno implemented the one-strike policy as he presented to the media the two Manila Traffic and Parking Bureau enforcers on Friday.

The enforcers, identified as Emmanuel Yumul and Laurence Montana, were caught on video negotiating and receiving money from a truck driver they apprehended along A.H. Lacson Avenue in Manila.

Moreno thanked the netizen who recorded the incident and uploaded the cellphone video, which became viral on social media.

He also called on the truck driver to press charges against the erring traffic enforcers.

“I ordered a one-strike policy, no second chance. It would be unfair to Manila residents if we, city hall employees, could not discipline our selves,” Moreno said in Filipino.

Domagoso assured residents that the city government is committed to cleaning up its ranks.
