Quezon City offers free Japanese classes

MANILA, Philippines — The Quezon City government will again offer free online basic Japanese language classes as part of its program on cross-cultural understanding.
The language learning program offered by the Quezon City Public Library (QCPL) will cover essential Japanese grammar, vocabulary, everyday expressions as well as the basics of Hiragana and Katakana writing systems.
The sessions will also provide participants with insights on Japanese customs, etiquette and cultural practices.
It is open to all Filipinos aged 18 and above who have access to a stable internet connection and a laptop, desktop or smartphone that can be used for Zoom sessions.
Registration, which may be done through the QCPL Facebook page, will be limited to 500 participants on a first come, first served basis.
Those who will register will receive a confirmation email and must confirm their attendance within 24 hours.
Unconfirmed slots will be given to waitlisted participants.
Sessions for the next batch will begin on June 19.
According to the city government, the free Japanese language program has produced 3,642 graduates.
The most recent batch had 172 graduates.
The program is conducted in partnership with Jellyfish Education Philippines Inc.
