MANILA, Philippines — The Criminal Investigation and Detection Group is prepared to arrest the suspects in the “missing sabungeros” case if the court issues a warrant, said CIDG director Maj. Gen. Nicholas Torre.

Torre said the Court of Appeals has canceled the bail of six people facing trial for kidnapping and serious illegal detention before the Manila Regional Trial Court Branch 40.

He added that authorities are monitoring the whereabouts of the suspects.

“We know where they are, although I’m sure they will try to hide. Still, we are hoping they surrender and face their cases in court,” Torre said.

The missing sabungeros cases involve several individuals who disappeared under suspicious circumstances, allegedly linked to game-fixing and illegal activities in the cockfighting industry.
