Pagadian airport to be closed for rehab

MANILA, Philippines — Pagadian airport in Zamboanga del Sur will be closed for one month to pave the way for repair of the runway.

The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) issued a notice to airmen on the closure of the airport from April 15 to May 15.

CAAP spokesman Eric Apolonio said the repair of the runway includes removal and replacement of damaged concrete blocks.

The closure of the airport is expected to affect around 120 flights as it operates four flights daily.

Passengers are encouraged to coordinate with their respective airlines for assistance in rerouting their flights.

The closure of Pagadian airport will result in the cancellation of Cebu Pacific flights and rerouting of Philippine Airlines flights to Dipolog.
