MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine Postal Corp. (PHLPost) is helping to bring fresh and affordable food and agricultural products to Kadiwa pop-up stores directly from farmers through its postal offices nationwide.

In coordination with the Department of Agriculture (DA) and local government units, PHLPost offers transportation services for Kadiwa pop-up stores in Mariveles, Bataan; Olongapo, Zambales, and Tarlac City, Tarlac.

Postmaster General Luis Carlos said the postal service is working with the DA to become the logistics provider for a portion of or entire agricultural sector at an affordable price.

Carlos said the PHLPost is interested in the expansion of the Kadiwa pop-up store program to give farmers more opportunities to market their products.

The initiative is in line with President Marcos’ goal of putting more food on the table in households in Northern Luzon and in other parts of the country.

As a logistics provider, PHLPost can transport agricultural products such as seedlings, fertilizers and crops to far-flung areas that have no access to major cities.
