Marijuana-stuffed SUV found in Kalinga

BAGUIO CITY — A marijuana bricks and tubulars-stuffed abandoned Sports Utility Vehicle was found in Tabuk City, Kalinga province’s capital on Tuesday dawn.

At least 205 MJ bricks, 45 in tubular form and 25 vacuum-sealed dried marijuana leaves, stalks and fruiting tops pegged to reach P28,050,000 were recovered and another 6 grams of alleged shabu worth P40,800 were discovered at around 4:45 a.m. in Mosimos, Tabuk City by policemen and anti-drug unit operatives of Philippine National Police Kalinga joined in by other police units and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency.

PDEA Kalinga reportedly responded to a call from an informant about a vehicle transporting dried marijuana leaves, stalks and fruiting tops from Tinglayan to Tabuk City.

The operatives then saw the abandoned vehicle- a silver and green colored Mitsubishi Pajero with plate number UST 711 stuffed with the contraband.

After the inventory of the confiscated illegal drugs witnessed by the Department of Justice, media and barangay officials, the contraband and the non-drug evidences were taken by the police as evidence.
