2 die in Pangasinan road mishaps

LINGAYEN, Philippines — Two men died in separate vehicular accidents in Urdaneta City and Bugallon town in Pangasinan on Tuesday.

Jay Sumio, 44, was crossing a street in Barangay Sto. Domingo, Urdaneta City at noon on Tuesday when he was hit by a van driven by Abraham Maramba.

Sumio was rushed to the Urdaneta District Hospital, where he was declared dead on arrival due to head injuries.

Maramba was taken to the police station for questioning.

Meanwhile, Alfredo Calugay was on a bicycle when he was hit by a motorcyle driven by Bobby Garcia, 23, in Barangay Salomague Sur, Bugallon.

Calugay fell off his bicycle and was run over by a van driven by Meljon Caguiao, 34.

The victim was declared dead on arrival at the Lingayen District Hospital due to head and body injuries.

Caguiao was taken in for questioning.
