MANILA, Philippines — Charges of murder and theft have been filed before the Misamis Occidental provincial prosecutor’s office in connection with the killing of radio broadcaster Juan ” Johnny Walker” Jumalon.

In an interview over dwPM 630 yesterday, Philippine National Police public information office chief Col. Jean Fajardo did not identity the suspects pending the result of a case buildup.

“We are cautious because the suspect named in the case may escape during our manhunt operation,” Fajardo said.

She did not give details, citing the request of the members of the investigating team.

Fajardo said all possible angles, including work-related issues and property disputes, are being considered in the investigation.

The Department of Social Welfare and Development provided P20,000 in financial aid to the family of Jumalon and educational assistance of P5,000 each to his two sons.

Jumalon was shot while hosting his radio program at his home in Calamba, Misamis Occidental on Monday.
