MANILA, Philippines — Two men who allegedly beat up their partners were arrested in Quezon City on Thursday.
Brig. Gen. Nicolas Torre III, Quezon City Police District director, identified the suspects as Ronald Gonzales, 40, and Jun Abuel, 41.
Gonzales was apprehended after he allegedly tried to forcibly enter the house of his former partner in Barangay Bagbag at around 4 a.m. in violation of a 15-day protection order.
His ex-partner sought the protection order due to the repeated physical abuse she suffered at Gonzales’ hands.
Abuel, meanwhile, was apprehended in Barangay Commonwealth at around 1:30 a.m. after he allegedly punched his partner when she confronted him about his alleged affair with another woman.
The suspects face charges of violating Republic Act 9262, the Anti-Violence Against Women and their Children Act.
