Construction worker buried in Batangas landslide

BATANGAS, Philippines — A construction worker died while his co-worker was injured when a landslide occurred in Mataasnakahoy town on Monday afternoon, police said.

Elmerto Tiosan and Mario Valencia were digging a drainage system in a vacant lot in Barangay Bubuyan when the soil collapsed.

Tiosan was buried in the landslide and died at the scene. Valencia was rescued by responding authorities and brought to the San Jose District Hospital for treatment.
