Holiday tomorrow in Bulacan, Cabanatuan

MANILA, Philippines — Tomorrow is a special non-working day in Bulacan and Cabanatuan City in Nueva Ecija.

Feb. 3 is the birth anniversary of former senator as well as labor and foreign affairs secretary Blas Ople, a native of Hagonoy, Bulacan.

Ople’s daughter, Department of Migrant Workers Secretary Maria Susana Ople, will join officials of Bulacan led by Gov. Daniel Fernando during a wreathlaying and other commemoration activities at the provincial capitol compound in Malolos.

The provincial public affairs office said a medical mission and a job fair would be held at the Bulacan Convention Center.

Proclamation 127 signed by Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin by authority of President Marcos declared a holiday in Cabanatuan to give residents an opportunity to celebrate and participate in the city’s 73rd anniversary.

“It is but fitting and proper that the people of the city of Cabanatuan be given full opportunity to celebrate and participate in the occasion with appropriate ceremonies,” the proclamation read.

Meanwhile, it is a special non-working day in Ilocos Norte today for the celebration of the 205th anniversary of the province.— Ric Sapnu, Artemio Dumlao
