Man wanted for rapem caught in Pasig
MANILA, Philippines — A man wanted for rape was arrested in Pasig City yesterday after four years of evading authorities.
The Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) is withholding the suspect’s identity due to the sensitive nature of the case.
The man was apprehended by CIDG operatives in a building along Dr. Sixto Avenue in Barangay Maybunga at around 10:01 a.m.
CIDG director Brig. Gen. Romeo Caramat Jr. said the suspect has a warrant of arrest issued by a court in Mandaluyong City for rape in June 2018.
Records showed a woman filed a complaint against the suspect, who allegedly raped her in a condominium unit in June 2018. According to the victim, she passed out after the suspect forced her to take a pill.
The CIDG took the suspect into custody for booking and present him to the court to face trial.
