21 Sayyaf men surrender

ZAMBOANGA CITY – Two Abu Sayyaf leaders and 19 of their members surrendered in Sulu on Sunday.

Majid Said and his sub-leader Jamiri Jauhari and their followers turned over seven M14 and three M16 rifles to the 104th Infantry Brigade in Barangay Bon-bon in Patikul town.

Col. Richard Verceles, operations chief of Police Area Command Western Mindanao, said the surrenderees were listed under the order of battle of the police and military.

Verceles said intelligence operatives of the 113th Military Intelligence Company and personnel of military battalions and police units in Patikul convinced the bandits to surrender.

The military said the mass surrender of Abu Sayyaf bandits signals the fall of the terrorist group.
