Dog trainer held for usurpation

CALAMBA, Laguna, Philippines — A K9 dog trainer was arrested for posing as an Army soldier and possession of illegal firearms in this city yesterday.

Crisanto Manzano Jr., 37, did not resist when police officers collared him in an entertainment bar in Barangay Parian at around 12:30 a.m., Lt. Col. Alexy Sonido, Calamba police chief, said.

The officers, who were conducting patrol, saw Manzano with a gun tucked in his waist.

Manzano reportedly introduced himself as a member of the Armed Forces of the Philippines, but failed to show documents to support his claim.
