156 pass Shari’ah Bar exams
MANILA, Philippines — A total of 156 out of 532 takers passed the 2022 Special Shari’ah Bar examinations held last March, the Supreme Court (SC)-Office of the Bar Confidant announced yesterday.
The top 10 passers are Cayasalam Ambung-Maniri who got 85.6 percent; Norhasima Curo, 85.5 percent; Aina Laguindab, 84.9 percent; Nur-aima Mortaba, 83.9 percent; Norajannah Lantud, 83.4 percent; Hasmin Barambangan, 83.2 percent; Shaibani Ameril, 83.07 percent; Abdul Raheem Tawano, 82.9 percent; Moumina Sheryne Domadalug-Abdullah, 82.4 percent, and Mohammad Muzahim Alioden, 82.1 percent.
The Shari’ah Bar examinations were conducted on March 20 and 22 at the University of the Philippines in Diliman, Quezon City.
Special Shari’ah Bar examinations chairperson Macrina Morados, dean of the UP Institute of Islamic Studies, said the SC en banc approved the Shari’ah Bar committee’s petition to lower the passing percentage to 70 percent. The SC said the move was in consideration of the challenges and circumstances encountered by the examinees during the COVID pandemic.
