MANILA, Philippines — Ninety-nine inmates were released from the New Bilibid Prison (NBP) in Muntinlupa on Friday, the Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) reported yesterday.
In a Facebook post, the BuCor said the inmates served time at the maximum, medium and minimum security buildings at the NBP.
Of the number, eight inmates were acquitted, 50 went out on parole and 40 were released on maximum expiration.
A total of 143 inmates have been released from the different prisons and penal farms under the BuCor’s supervision.
The BuCor’s Office of External Affairs Section and the Directorate for External Relations reached out to other government agencies to provide support to the former convicts.
