BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya, Philippines — A man accused of killing his parents surrendered to the police in Kayapa town in this province on Thursday.
Col. Ranser Evasco, Nueva Vizcaya police director, said Iry Baltazar, 28, stabbed his parents and his sister while they were sleeping in the living room of their home in Barangay Pampang at around 3:10 a.m.
Ruben Baltazar, 68, Merong and his wife Nora, 65, were declared dead on arrival in a hospital.
Iry’s sister Shayra, 26, who suffered two stab wounds, managed to escape and seek help from their relatives and neighbors. She was referred to the Region 2 Trauma and Medical Center in Bayombong town for further treatment.
Probers said Iry was neither high on drugs nor drunk.
The suspect was charged with parricide and frustrated homicide.
