Easterlies to bring rain over Luzon

MANILA, Philippines — Scattered rainshowers are expected over the eastern portion of Luzon due to prevailing easterlies, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said yesterday.

The provinces of Cagayan and Isabela will have cloudy skies, state weather forecasters said.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country will also have cloudy skies as well as isolated rainshowers due to easterlies and localized thunderstorms.

Flash floods and landslides are possible during moderate to at times heavy rain.

The public has been advised to stay alert during bad weather, especially if they are residing in areas classified as geohazard.

A low-pressure area earlier spotted off the coast of Eastern Samar had dissipated, PAGASA said.
