Couple slain in Quezon gun attack

CAMP VICENTE LIM, Laguna, Philippines — A couple were shot dead in front of a gasoline station in Tiaong, Quezon yesterday.

Col. Joel Villanueva, Quezon police director, said probers have yet to identify the fatalities.

“We recovered from the crime scene the motorcycle used by the victims. We will try to get their names,” Villanueva said.

Lt. Col. Marlon Cabataña, Tiaong police chief, said the victims were at a tricycle terminal in Barangay Sambat Paiisa when they were shot.

Cabataña said the victims tried to escape, but the assailant cornered them near the gas station.

Witnesses said the gunmen fled on foot.
