SUBIC BAY FREEPORT, Philippines — Smuggled agricultural products worth P103 million have been destroyed in Subic.

Among those destroyed were onions, carrots and frozen fish as well as other seafood products that arrived at the Port of Subic from China.

The destruction was completed at the Greenleaf 88 non-hazardous waste disposal facility in Pampanga on Thursday, according to Maritess Martin, Bureau of Customs collector at the Port of Subic.

The rotten onions and carrots were transported to a landfill facility in Tarlac.

Representatives from the Department of Agriculture and Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority witnessed the destruction of the products, which were reportedly consigned to the Zhenpin Consumer Goods Trading, Gingarion Agri Trading and Schnell Wert OPC.
