MANILA, Philippines — The Bureau of Customs (BOC) confiscated P45 million worth of counterfeit products and “ukay ukay” in Parañaque City on Saturday.
BOC personnel recovered 3,300 bales of used clothes amounting to P25 million as well as fake branded shoes and slippers worth P20 million in separate warehouses in the city.
The BOC said the warehouses, whose owners remain unidentified, were padlocked pending inventory of the goods.
Charges of violation of the Customs Modernization and Tariff Act in relation to the Intellectual Property Code and the law that prohibits the importation of used clothes will be filed against the owners of the warehouses.
