Pia Lee-Brago - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines — Foreign Affairs Secretary Teodoro Locsin Jr. will leave for Morocco today for a five-day official visit, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) announced yesterday.

Locsin’s Morocco trip, upon the invitation of its foreign minister Nasser Bourita, is his first official visit to the North African country as DFA chief.

Locsin will hold a bilateral meeting with Bourita to discuss strengthening of ties between the Philippines and Morocco.

Locsin and Bourita are expected to sign deals, including the Philippines-Morocco Air Services Agreement.

Despite the pandemic, trade between the two countries increased in 2020 totaling close to $23 million.
