MANILA, Philippines — About 99 percent of personnel of the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) have been vaccinated against COVID-19, an official reported yesterday.
In an interview on dzBB, MMDA general manager Romando Artes said almost all of the MMDA employees are fully vaccinated.
The agency has started the rollout of booster shots for MMDA personnel, Artes said.
“The primary vaccination of our employees is almost done,” he said. “The inoculation is also open to the beneficiaries or relatives of MMDA personnel.”
Artes said they would donate their additional COVID-19 vaccines to local government units in the provinces.
The MMDA said it is preparing for the vaccination of children aged five to 11.
About half of the MMDA’s vaccination facilities have been converted for pediatric vaccination.
“It would be like a playground. We would set up a big TV screen showing children’s shows so their mood would be light,” Artes said.
