2 held for gun ban violation in Nueva Ecija

CABANATUAN CITY, Philippines — Two persons were arrested for violation of the election gun ban in Nueva Ecija on Tuesday night.

Motorcycle riders John Paul Nierval and Arnold Rebamba were flagged down at a police checkpoint in Barangay San Vicente in Gapan City for not wearing helmets, according to a report received by Col. Jess Mendez, acting Nueva Ecija police director.

The suspects tried to escape, resulting in a brief chase.

When cornered, police said a 9mm pistol, a hand grenade, a caliber. 45 pistol and .45 grams of shabu valued at P3,000 were recovered from the suspects.
